Techniques
| Technique | Best for | How it works |
|---|---|---|
| HPTLC fingerprinting | Botanical powders and extracts | Compares the chemical "fingerprint" of your sample with authenticated reference material. |
| FTIR spectroscopy | Single-compound ingredients, excipients, oils | Matches the infrared spectrum against a reference spectrum. |
| Macroscopic and microscopic examination | Whole, cut and powdered botanicals | Looks for the structural features that identify the plant and plant part. |
| Chromatographic identity | Vitamins, amino acids, actives | Confirms identity by retention time and detector response. |
Why test identity on every lot
A supplier's certificate tells you what they tested, not what arrived at your dock. Testing incoming lots yourself is the most direct way to confirm a raw material before you commit it to a batch, and it gives you documentation to show customers and auditors.
Reference materials
Identity methods depend on good reference standards. When we quote, we confirm which reference material will be used for each ingredient, or whether we need one from you.
What you receive
A report stating whether the sample conforms to the reference, with the supporting chromatogram, spectrum or images.
Turnaround and pricing
Turnaround depends on the test, the number of samples and the time of year. Standard and rush options are quoted per project. PENDING: turnaround times + pricing
