Frequently asked questions

Answers to common questions about choosing tests, sending samples and reading your results.

Getting started

Which tests does my product need?
It depends on what the product is, what is in it, and where it is sold. Most supplements need at least label-claim potency, heavy metals and microbiology; hemp products usually add a cannabinoid profile and contaminant panels. Send us a description and we will recommend a panel.
Do you work with small brands?
Yes. We test single samples for new brands as well as ongoing lot-release testing for established manufacturers.
How do I get a quote?
Use the contact form. Include the product type, the tests you are interested in and the number of samples, and we will reply with a quote.
Do I need an account before sending samples?
Please request a quote first, so we can confirm the methods, sample quantity and price before your samples arrive.

Samples and shipping

How much sample should I send?
Enough for every test requested, plus some reserve for confirmation. A full retail unit is usually a good starting point; we confirm exact amounts with your quote.
Can I send products in their retail packaging?
Yes, and it is preferred. Sealed retail packaging protects the sample and is especially important for microbiology.
Where do I ship samples?
To 5990 Hillside Ave, Cincinnati, OH 45233. See How to submit a sample for packing guidance.
Do samples need to be shipped cold?
Only perishable or temperature-sensitive products. Ship them with cold packs early in the week so they do not sit in transit over a weekend.

Results and reports

What is a Certificate of Analysis (CoA)?
A CoA is the formal report of your results. It identifies the sample, lists each test and method, and gives the result, units and limit of quantitation, along with any specification you asked us to compare against.
What does "<LOQ" or "ND" mean on a report?
Can I share my CoA with customers?
Yes. Many brands link their CoAs from a QR code on the package or post them on their website.
Can you compare results against a specification?
Yes. Send us the limits with your submission and the report will show whether each result meets them.
How long do results take?
Turnaround depends on the test and sample volume, and is confirmed with your quote. PENDING: turnaround times
What if a result fails?
We review the data and quality-control checks before releasing any result. If you want a confirmation, we can retest from reserve material or a new sample.

About the lab

Where are you located?
5990 Hillside Ave, Cincinnati, OH 45233.
Is the lab accredited?
PENDING: accreditation status — Chris to confirm
Do you sell the products you test?
No. We are an independent testing lab and report results as measured.
Do you keep my results confidential?
Yes. Results are released only to you or to people you authorize. See our privacy policy.
